Constructed a critical new section of regional road infrastructure as part of Orange City Council’s Southern Feeder Road project. Stage 2 involved building a link that significantly enhances heavy vehicle access around the southern side of Orange, improving traffic flow to the industrial precinct. Despite the complexity of bridging a live rail line and interfacing with existing roads, we delivered the works safely and to specification. Key features of this project included:
New Road Construction: Formation of approximately 1 km of new roadway built to Transport for NSW (formerly RMS) standards, including a durable pavement structure designed for heavy trucks.
Intersection Upgrades: Modification and upgrade of connecting intersections at each end of the new road section to tie into the existing road network. Works included new turning lanes, traffic islands, line marking, and signage
Drainage & Utilities: Installation of roadside drainage infrastructure such as culverts, stormwater pipelines, and headwalls to manage runoff along the route, along with protection/ relocation of any affected utilities
Traffic Management: Implementation of comprehensive traffic control plans throughout construction, minimizing disruptions to local road users and safely managing the interface with ongoing rail operations during bridge works.
By completing Stage 2 of the Southern Feeder Road, we helped create a safer and more efficient transport route that benefits both the local community and commercial operators in Orange.
